So Easy Baby Food Kits
$25.05 (Purchase)
WHY WE LUV THIS
When my son was a baby, we made a lot of his baby-food which we froze in ice cube trays for later use. We eventually figured it out, but it was trial and error, mixing the right proportion of this and that until we got the right consistency and flavor. How I wish we had these So Easy Baby Food Kits then. They come complete with recipes, ice cube trays and instructions. For my personal taste, I’d substitute use of the microwave (as suggested) with stove top cooking. – MAGGIE HERNANDEZ-KNIGHT

My Miracle
by Bertha Melikyan (Purchase)

I Put the Can In Cancer
by Imogen Gough (Purchase)
WHY WE LUV THESE
I love, love, love books! My two favorites are My Miracle by Bertha Melikyan. A story of a little creature who comes to find just how beautiful he is & as he shares his gifts everyone around him sees their own beauty as well. Excellent for the children in all of us.
The other is I Put the Can In Cancer. A terrificly empowering book with only a sentence or two per page & lots of illustrations. It is fun to read as well as insightful for anyone going through the process of having cancer, or anyone who loves someone going through this process. It’s also great for teaching children in a light way what it’s like to go through it. The author, Imogen Gough, realized when she was diagnosed with breast cancer that all the books out there were about things you couldn’t or shouldn’t do. So she decided to write a book about what you could do.

WHY WE LUV THIS
My 4-1/2 year old is so super active that getting him to sit and learn even his ABC’s has been a challenge UNTIL Leap Frog :: Letters Factory! The DVD series which consists of Letters Factory, Words Factory, Storybook Factory, Math Circus, etc. is so engaging and fun that my son began identifying letters immediately. My cousin, Margarita Acevedo-Soto who first recommended the series had her youngest son spelling before the age of four thanks to this series. — MAGGIE HERNANDEZ-KNIGHT

Schylling Sock Monkey (toy)
$12.99 Purchase on Amazon
WHY WE LUV THIS
I can’t remember who showed me their Sock Monkey a few years ago. But, I do recall how adorable it was. I’m rarely impressed by a plush toy, but I think the simplicity of the design with the slender, neutral body and the pop of color is brilliantly done. — MAGGIE HERNANDEZ-KNIGHT
